Day 1 


Arrival in Bishkek. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Transfer to hotel.  

Day 2 


Today we start our first day in one of Central Asian Stans capital, Bishkek. Walking city tour of Bishkek, Central Square Ala-Too, Oak Park, Parliament house, State Museum. We will have good opportunities to learn about Kyrgyz felt NGO supported workshops. Since Soviet collapse Kyrgyz women have enjoyed developing felt art designs freely.(BLD) 

Day 03 


After breakfast, travel to Kochkor village, 260 kms from Bishkek. Kochkor village where you will visit the Altyn Kol Women’s Handicraft Co-operative. At Felt Master’s we will learn how nomadic Kyrgyz women made felt rags Shyrdak, Ala-Kiyiz- a floor covering made by pressing felt of various naturally dyed colors. You will see a show of the process of felt carpet making. Lunch will be served at Felt Master house with traditional meals in Kochkor. Kochkor is a famous province for farmers and woolen felt makers. Used to be one of the billionaire soviet kolkhoz (collective farm). It is also a birthplace of Usubaliev Turdakun (the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Soviet Kyrgyzstan). After lunch Excursion to Salt Mine resort “Chon-Tuz” which was formed by Soviets for providing asthma and allergy treatment.(25 km from Kochkor village). Traditional food for dinner and overnight in Kochkor CBT homestays (BLD) 

Day 04 


Transfer to Son-Kul Lake. It is the second largest mountain lake in Kyrgyzstan located at 3015 m above sea level. Very popular Tian-Shan mountain lake for summer pastures-Dzhailoo, horse riding learners and mare’s milk lover’s. Best place for nature lovers who like to count stars at midnight through the open top of Kyrgyz Felt Dwelling Yurt- Boz-Ui. Here you will have an experience to eat and sleep in a Yurt neighbored with sheep and horses. Afternoon free for exploration, horse riding and just relaxation without Wi-Fi and mobile services. Lunch / Dinner and overnight in a CBT Yurt. (BLD) 

Day 05 


Today we drive to Tash-Rabat Caravanserai on the Great Silk Road, a well-preserved 15th century stone fortress in At-Bashy Mountain Range, 100 km before Kyrgyz-Chinese border Torugart. There is an argue in the history that it was related to Nestorian or Buddhist monastery. Today’s trip will pass through the beautiful mountains and valleys of Tian-Shan where we will enjoy the stunning view of the At-Bashy mountain range from Moldo-Ashuu pass 3200 m. Upon arrival exploration of Tash-Rabat canyon with similar to Mongolian landscapes. Dinner in Yurt. Overnight in Yurt. (BLD) 

Day 06 


After breakfast we drive to Naryn town which is the 10th largest by population town in Kyrgyzstan and with nicknames: Naryngrad and Kyrgyz Siberia. It is situated on banks of the Naryn River, one of the main tributaries of the Syr-Darya river that flows to Aral Sea. Here we are going to visit University of Central Asia founded in 2000 by Aga-Khan foundation. More info at Meeting with students and teachers. Lunch in Naryn. Transfer to Kyzyl-Tuu village where a Kyrgyz family member’s show us how to make traditional Yurt. We will all help to assemble a yurt. Continue driving to Bokonbayeva village located on the south part of Issyk-Kul Lake. Dinner and overnight in CBT homestays. (BLD) 

Day 07 


After breakfast visit Eagle hunter’s house to meet Golden Eagle hero. FAQ of eagle hunting. Later demonstration of Kyrgyz national traditions such as kyz-uzatuu (good buy ceremony of the just married daughter), beshik (baby cradle ceremony) and optional bride kidnapping ceremony!. Lunch in Bokonbayeva CBT houses. After lunch we will drive to one of the Kyrgyz’s pride Djety-Oguz Gorge, a lush valley with striking red sandstone rock formations – the ‘Seven Bulls’ from which the valley takes its name. Here we will enjoy watching at Eagle Hunting Show. Dinner and accommodation in a Yurt with outside western shared toilet. (BLD) 

Day 08 


After breakfast half day easy hiking along the Djety-Oguz river. Lunch in Yurt camp. Afternoon drive to Karakol town, one the first Russian military outpost founded on July 1, 1869. Here you will enjoy walking in the streets with blue framed windows “gingerbread” style houses. Walking tour of visits to: wooden Russian Orthodox church- the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Pagoda Mosque, souvenir shop. Dinner at Uighur family house. Interesting Kyrgyz folk concert will accompany our dinner. Overnight in Green Yard (BLD)

Day 09 


If today is Sunday, early morning at 6 AM we will go to Sunday Animal Market of Karakol. Return to hotel for breakfast. Visit Przevalski Memorial Museum, who was a Great Russian Explorer of late 19th century. Continue driving to Cholpon-Ata, a resort town of Issyk-Kul Lake. Boat ride where we admire the stunning view of the lake with brandy and Champaign party on board. Visit Cholpon-Ata Saimalu-Tash that covers 42 hectares and contains prehistoric monumental structures (stone circles, tombs, the remains of a boundary stone wall,) and petroglyphs, dating from 500 BC up to 600 AD. Lunch at local restaurant in Cholpon-Ata. Afternoon drive to Chon-Kemin valley in Kyrgyzstan where we will have the opportunity to walk in the old soviet farm (kolkhoz) village. This evening experience true Kyrgyz hospitality with traditional meals with Brandy/Vodka Party. Dinner and overnight in Ashuu Guest house. (BLD) 

Day 10 


After breakfast enjoy hiking in the valley with green fir trees mountains background in the south. Later at around 11:30 AM we walk to a local stadium where we will be witnesses of one of the famous horseback game called Ulak-Tartysh –Kok-Boru (Headless Goat fight. Lunch in a lovely Ashuu guest house. After lunch we drive to Burana tower of 11th century that is a remains of the ancient city Balasagun. Arival in Bishek. Transfer to hotel. Farewell dinner at local restaurant of Ethnographical center “SUPARA” with Manas Epic story performance. (BLD)
